Countdown for President Parvanov begins
The president got pissed off at the prime minister three times in two days.

The first – for recalling our ambassadors to the US and Turkey, then for the insistence of certain people on putting ex-PM Stanishev in jail as soon as possible, and finally – because PM Borisov and foreign minister Rumiana Zheleva went to Berlin without inviting him. On top of everything right-wing leader Ivan Kostov and far right Ataka leader Volen Siderov requested to impeach him. Parvanov no longer enjoys the spotlight, which is making him angry. Our ambassadors to Washington D.C. and Ankara traditionally pledge loyalty to him. These countries are important; certain circles have major interests there. The situation is changing and Parvanov is losing control. As for the Stanishev issue, Parvanov appointed him heir to the Socialist Party throne 8 years ago and supported his campaign for PM, granting him comfort in the full four years that followed. This is no longer the case. Parvanov himself is feeling very uncomfortable. The last time he wanted to criticize the government he had to go to the University of National and World Economy, where the rector is his adviser. Other than that, he is right to ask what is happening to the major crime bosses. But so are we. Mr. President, what is happening to them? What is happening to the oligarchs? Wasn’t the Prosecutor General Parvanov’s adviser too? Why wasn’t at least one major criminal jailed during Stanishev’s mandate? Parvanov didn’t seem too interested then. He didn’t ask why the EU put our funds on hold or why all the ministers were corrupt. Suddenly he started to care, but few believe he really does. As for Berlin, he really shouldn’t have pressed the issue. Clearly Parvanov is not wanted at the celebration in honor of the 20th anniversary. He should know why, as everyone not afflicted with amnesia is. At the University he reminded that a single referendum hasn’t been held so far and this is unfair. This is true. The demands to impeach him are a good reason to give a personal example. A vote of confidence would augment his authority, if he won. As a historian he should know that such actions make history. It is doubtful that will happen though. Bulgarian politicians would rather be alive than immortal.
