Vice chairman of Law, Order and Justice Atanas Semov requested that Mario Tagarinski, who left the party and rendered it non-existent, to leave Parliament for ever. Semov thinks PM Borisov himself is personally responsible for Tagarinski’s actions. After his departure the LOJ no longer has the number of deputies needed to remain in Parliament (the minimum of 10) as a party. The remaining 9 will be relegated to independents. “This is an attempt to destroy a real party,” Semov is quoted as saying. Everything is going according to ruling party GERB’s plan and that of its leader Borisov. Semov finds the whole story “farcical”. Tagarinski was an active member of the LOJ on Friday. He signed a declaration and left. Just two hours later someone came in and deposited his resignation from the party. Tagarinski owes the party an explanation, Semov insisted, adding that Bulgaria’s back to being a totalitarian state because destroying a political opponent is not a European thing to do. The whole purpose was to stop LOJ leader Yane Yanev from presiding over the parliamentary anti-corruption committee. He no longer has the right to this post as his party no longer exists. The LOJ will fight till the end, Semov assured.
