PM Borisov: If the President wants war, he’ll get it!
"If President Georgi Parvanov wants war, he’ll get it,” PM Boyko Borissov was seething with indignation after the president turned down the truce offered by finance minister Djankov, who went to his office with the intercession of the Prime Minister to settle the argument that started after Djankov’s statement in a TV show that the President was a young billionaire.
"Is this fair, I am asking? Djankov went to his office to apologize and they set up a burlaw court for him, which was secretly recorded on top of that,” PM Boyko Borissov hit out at the President in an interview with Trud daily.
In the interview, Borissov makes it a point that former deputy finance minister Kiril Ananiev, the main culprit for the hapless condition of Budget 2009 at the end of the Tripartite Coalition’s tenure, was on Parvanov’s side during the meeting with Djankov.
“The President has just stabbed me in the back,” Borissov said shortly after the transcript of the Parvanov-Djankov meeting was released in Public.
"Parvanov’s fierce attack against the government is absolutely unwarranted. The president should apologize for some instances of wrongdoing on the part of the Tripartite Coalition,” PM Borissov said.
He also expressed disappointment of that the Head of State disregarded his will to put an end to this argument.
"I thought it was some kind of misunderstanding between Djankov and Parvanov, but it has turned out to be a scandal,” Borissov said.
