The next tourist season at Sunny Beach is at risk

The next tourist season at Sunny Beach is at risk, warned SB AD chief executive Malina Stratieva after a meeting of the Director’s Board yesterday.
The sale of the infrastructure of the resort was postponed because the company managing the resort received a letter from the chairman of Nessebar Municipal Council, from which it emerged that it would be decided how to conduct the sale at the next Council session. How to maintain the infrastructure is a more difficult problem. “We maintain it by collecting fees from all the owners of hotels, restaurants and other venues, regulated by certain agreements. So far everyone has been signing infrastructure agreements. Not everyone made due payments, but we could take those who don’t to court and were granted compensation,” Stratieva explained. Site owners must sign contracts and pay for maintenance by the end of the year. Of the 199 letters that were sent only 20 of the recipients signed infrastructure agreements. “Maintaining green spaces, streetlights and security is a big part of the tourist product we offer, a way to ensure our visitors’ comfort and safety. If everyone pays for maintenance we would collect BGN 1.2 million, and the police alone cost 1.1 million,” Stratieva concluded.
